History

A decade of India’s independence, the villages became aware of secondary education, the people became hungry for education. At such a time, for the children of the villages in the area of 15 km around Malvan, the natives of Malvan and the ardent lawyers of this area, Late Shri Jayantilal C. Mehta and Late Nanalal K. Mehta started a secondary school in a godown building in Malvan village on 11th June 1956 to satisfy the hunger for education, and also established the Malvan Education Society for its management. The constitution was prepared and the society was registered under the Reg. Act-1860 and Bombay Public Trust 1950 in February 1957.

As a result of the hard work of the office bearers, Shri Natwarlal Hiralal Sheth, who is a native of Santrampur, donated Rs. 60 thousand to name the school after his late father Shri Hiralal Hargovindadas and thus, upon receiving this donation, the name of the school was changed to H. H. Sheth High School, Malvan. For this, as a result of the tireless efforts of Late Navneetlal Keshavlal Mehta, Late Kantibhai Manilal Dani and Shri Sureshbhai Dani, Malvan Arts College was started in 1990. The college also got a permanent affiliation with Gujarat University and now affiliated with Shri Govind Guru University, Vinzol, Panchamahal with the cooperation of the President of the institution Shri Navneetlal K. Mehta and former Chairman Shri Sureshbhai Dani, which the society can never forget.

As it was a grace of nature, donors like Shri Kantibhai Mehta, Shri Rameshbhai Mehta, Priyavadan Mehta and Jayantbhai Mehta and also a one other family, Shri Budhhisagar Dani and Shri Kamleshbhai Dani, these both family members have contributed their valuable donation for the name of College.  There was also another great contribution for the name of the College Campus by Shri Harishbhai Mehta, Shri Vinaybhai Mehta, Shri Jiteshbhai Mehta and Shrimati Alkaben Mehta. Shri Bharat Mehta, Shri Bhadresh Mehta, Shri Kiranbhai Mehta and Dr. Bharatiben Shah donated for the name of J. C. Mehta School Campus also.

As a part of the generosity of the donors, the family of the late Mr. Shri Nanalal K. Mehta, a prominent businessman of Malvan who started the society and was constantly involved in its development, and who was always and constantly concerned about the college, and the family of Shri Fulchand Dani, the college is known as Shri N.K. Mehta and Mrs. M.F. Dani Arts College Malvan and Shri Piyushbhai Dani has also made his valuable contribution for its building construction.

The school was given a different name to the higher secondary department after receiving donations from Bharatkumar A Mehta, Ahmedabad who served as an honorary member in the society from 1971 to 1994 and made great efforts for the development of the institutions, and Malvan’s son-in-law, who considered Malvan his own. The school is currently providing education under the new name of H. H. Seth High School and Mrs. A. R. Dani and Mrs. K. B. Mehta Higher Secondary School.

It is not out of place to remember the old office bearers, while the society’s institutions are currently doing their work as banyan trees. It is a great joy to see the dreams of elders like Dr. Ramesh Mehta, Late Shri Chandrakant C. Dani, Late Shri Vallabbhai Desai and Vallabhbhai Dani, Late Shri Mulshankar P Joshi, Shri Bhura Rama Patel and many more. But in this time of competition, we will have to be even more prepared.

The way like a child learns by taking steps, the map of this magnificent school building which was made by the late Shri Kantilal N. Mehta, some rooms were built in it by the late Shri J. C. Mehta and the late Shri N. K. Mehta. The rest was completed by Shri K. R. Dani and the last one was given by Secretary Shri Jayantbhai Mehta and Joint Secretary Shri Narendrabhai H. Doshi and also Shri Piyush K. Dani. So, how should the tireless work of the workers be forgotten? The greenness of the school premises is breathtaking. From a distance, it is clear that there is no magnificent college building standing!

After that, Shri Bharatbhai Mehta, Shri Bhadreshbhai Mehta and Shri Kiranbhai Mehta completed the work of the boarding during his tenure and also donated for the name of this hostel. At present, all these responsibilities are being handled very well by Shri Bhadresh K. Modi as Secretary and Shri Piyush K. Dani as Chairman, who are getting the guidance of Shri Sureshbhai Dani and Shri Kamleshbhai Dani.
